24hrs with an OCD sufferer

24 hours with... Rose Wiltshire
Date: 16 March 2016
Why have you chosen to write about today? I would have written about a previous day but have been ill with flu for a while.

Good morning!

What time did you wake up?
6am

Why did you wake up at that time?
It's the time I always get up unless I'm ill.

Did you have a dream?
Several. Disjointed and quite silly.

Do you think today will be 'good' or 'bad' day? (use your own definition of these words to answer the question)
I try not to think of days as being good or bad. Some days are harder than others but hopefully still with things to look forward to.

What are the first three things you do after waking up?
Reset my alarm, wash my face and brush my teeth

Do you eat breakfast? If yes, what did you have?
I had a large glass of chocolate protein shake

What would be your perfect breakfast?
Poached eggs, smoked salmon, and hot buttered granary toast.

Is there anything that you have to do today but don't particularly want to?
Go to work

List five things that you do between 9am and noon
Check my work to do list, check my personal to do list, check my work emails, drink water, eat a couple of pieces of fruit.

Did you eat lunch? If yes, what did you eat?
Homemade tandoori chicken and large salad.

What would be your perfect lunch?
Sushi.

List five things that you have done, said, thought, or that have happened between noon and 5pm
Worried about getting older, obsessed about the texture of my skin, picked at my lips, told someone that I liked their dress, listened to music.

Do you eat dinner/tea? If yes, at what time?
8:30pm

What do you eat?
Pad Thai with crispy tofu pieces

What would be your perfect dinner?
Nut loaf with full assortment of roast veggies and gravy.

What do you do with your evening (5-8pm)?
Tonight I went to pole dancing class and then started getting dinner ready

Do you have a 'get-ready-for-bed' routine? If so, what is it?
I don't really have a routine. I find that focussing on sleep causes anxiety.

What time do you go to sleep?
Usually between 10-11pm

Is this when you want to go to bed? Or is it influenced by what you're doing the following day?
I just go to sleep whenever my body feels tired. Beyond that I try not to think about it.

Do you share your bed?
Sometimes

Which position do you tend to sleep in? e.g. foetus, starfish etc.
Starfish either front or back.

Reflect
What was your favourite part of your day?
Pole dance class

What was your least favourite?
The bit where the alarm went off.

Did anything happen today that you'd like to change or re-do?
A few things. I have a tendency to procrastinate.

Did you 'learn' anything today? (use your own definition of this word to answer the question)
I learnt a new spin at pole dance lesson.

Are you looking forward to tomorrow
I have no strong feelings either way

What do you have planned?
A couple of hours in the gym and an evening studying for exams!

Thank you for contributing to the series!

Goodnight!
