Why have you chosen to write about today?
It looks like a sunny day, so I felt slightly more energetic than usual!

 Good morning! 

What time did you wake up?

Why did you wake up at that time?
That's the time my alarm is set for these days.  

Did you have a dream?
Not that I remember... 

Do you think today will be 'good' or 'bad' day? (use your own definition of these words to answer the question) 
I think today will be a good day...busy, but good! 

What are the first three things you do after waking up?
Switch on the TV to catch the morning news, start reading the news on my phone, try and have a stretch! 

Do you eat breakfast? If yes, what did you have?
No. I'm very bad at eating breakfast. 

What would be your perfect breakfast?
I cannot lie – a full English with strong black coffee. 

Is there anything that you have to do today but don't particularly want to?
I've got a particularly thorny issue to host a meeting about that I won't enjoy, but it needs resolving, so that would probably be it. 

List five things that you will do between 9am and noon.  
1.Have meetings about the business aspects of my department (9 oclock) 
2.Have a meeting about an historic enquiry which I am reviewing. 
3. Devising a new strategy with our Director of Intelligence 
4.Discussing new ways to deal with calls for service from the public in our Force Control Room 
5. Try and catch up with some of the staff who work for Crime at Headquarters 

Did you eat lunch? If yes, what did you eat?
No. Again, very bad of me, I should lead by example, but there just wasn't any time today (a very poor excuse!) 

What would be your perfect lunch?
Might be surprising to those that know me, but a nice crisp Salad! 

List five things that you have done, said, thought, or that have happened between noon and 5pm. 
1. I wondered what kind of fool would leave his office windows open all night and turn his office into some kind of weird freezer – and then realised that it was actually me. 
2. I noticed that a song that I must have listened to about a million times on the way to and from work has a really cool section at the end that I hadn't noticed before. So that was nice. 

 Do you eat dinner/tea? If yes, at what time?
Yes (it's tea in our house, none of this southern "dinner" nonsense!) 

What do you eat?
Tonight, I will eat Salmon and rice with some broccoli. 

What would be your perfect dinner?
Pork chops (with anything!) or a nice Chicken Jhalfrezi 

What do you do with your evening (5-8pm)?
For most of it I'm doing the commute home, but when I get in I try and catch up with the day of the family, and if I have enough time I listen to some music to unwind, and if I'm lucky I get to turn on the PS4 for a bit and play some games with my boys.


Do you have a 'get-ready-for-bed' routine? If so, what is it?
I watch some Youtube usually before sleep – I really like watching videos on the stranger aspects of Physics, "weird mysteries" and / or documentaries. 

What time do you go to sleep?
Some time between 22:30 and 23:30 

Is this when you want to go to bed? Or is it influenced by what you're doing the following day?
If I have a period of annual leave I tend to go to bed later. 

Do you share your bed?

Which position do you tend to sleep in? e.g. foetus, starfish etc.
I have no idea!


What was your favourite part of your day?
I liked the mid-morning when I was settled and in the zone.

What was your least favourite?
The drive in!

Did anything happen today that you'd like to change or re-do?

I learn something every day. If I don't know something, I make a mental note to look it up later.
