I hope that this series raises the profile of Cats Protection's work and an awareness that cats aren’t just for Christmas. Pet’s aren’t presents. They need to be given a loving, permanent home and not a one-day excuse for some excitement and a few happy squeals! Pets are a amazing, beautiful and heart-warming
commitment.

Owner: Chris Jackson, Customer Engagement Advisor, Cats Protection Tyneside Adoption Centre
Name: Magic
Age: 10
Where’s your
cat from? Magic was brought to the Vets I worked in when she was around three weeks old after being abandoned. She was brought in with two other kittens and they were reared by Nursing staff until old enough to be rehomed separately. Magic was the 'runt' of the litter.
Favourite food: even though she shouldn't get it - she goes mad for the odd little bit of cheese
Favourite
thing to do: chase shadows - especially her own on the wall (she's not the most clever of cats)
Favourite
toy: a muffin case (after the muffin has been eaten)
Hates… the hoover!
Note: Cats Protection generally does not home cats over Christmas, as many cats do not settle well into a new home during this very busy time of year, but cats and kittens can be reserved for adoption so that they can be collected early in the New Year!
