What time did you wake up?
About 6:45am… I think! But then I never know the answer to this because my brain, first thing in the morning, feels very inebriated, despite being stone cold sober
Why did you wake up at that time?
I have no idea, my body’s been really into waking me up at stupid o’clock recently, long days are the worst but at least I can say goodbye to my husband before he starts work!
Did you have a dream?
I always have really stressful and nightmarish dreams, which are always lucid, so it feels so real. I can’t remember what I dreamt about but I guarantee that part of it was chasing my dog, or saving her furry bum… as she appears in all my dreams (I’m just so in love haha!).
Do you think today will be 'good' or 'bad' day? (use your own definition of these words to answer the question)
I feel like today’s going to be a bad day, it sounds pessimistic but I’ve been struggling for a few days now. I keep crying randomly and my brain keeps having little ‘spasms’ so I feel a bit worse for ware. Plus I am so hard on myself so I am not sure what a good day is…
What are the first three things you do after waking up?
Pee. Coffee. Pee again.
Do you eat breakfast? If yes, what did you have?
Breakfast is my favourite meal ever! I’ve been loving pastry recently, so this morning was cinnamon swirls… yum!
What would be your perfect breakfast?
ALL THE PASTRY and a gingerbread soy latté… mmmmm… bring on holiday!
Is there anything that you have to do today but don't particularly want to?
My presentation for my dissertation at College. I have to write out a huge ass essay onto PowerPoint and it’s my least favourite thing to do, maybe more so than actually presenting it. Urgh! At least college is almost finished and then I will finally have a college education!
List five things that you do between 9am and noon.
1. Drink lots of coffee
2. Counteract Coffee with Green Tea.
3. Check up on emails
4. Do some writing
5. Binge on Netflix (all day, everyday!)
Did you eat lunch? If yes, what did you eat?
I mean, I was really adult and health so… potato waffles and onion hajis
What would be your perfect lunch?
You know, I like eating nibble food, like nuggets or chips. I tend to have more calories at lunch because I get so hungry, a side effect of my anti-depressants. I’ve been really craving dough balls recently, so that with maybe a pudding of a ginger muffin or lemon cake… which is hard to get as a vegan in my town… woe is me! GIVE A GIRL HER DAMN CAKE.
List five things that you have done, said, thought, or that have happened between noon and 5pm.
1. I cried
2. I reminisced
3. I spoke to an old friend
4. I missed old friends
5. I sang along to tuneees
Do you eat dinner/tea? If yes, at what time?
Yes, I was starving at the cinema, anyone else dream of their next meal? I had mine at 7:30pm .
What do you eat?
Fries and Linda McCartney sausages… delish!
What would be your perfect dinner?
A really yummy vegan burger with lots of pickles and a side of vegan spicy coleslaw and tripe fried chips (all the crispyness). I am such a junk food vegan.
What do you do with your evening (5-8pm)?
It varies really, unusually just cuddle the pupper and refresh Twitter constantly. Tonight I’ve been catching up with my bae, Meredith Foster.
Goodnight!
Do you have a 'get-ready-for-bed' routine? If so, what is it?
I try to brush my teeth but I do forget sometimes, my mental health sort of gets distracted. I have to make sure the fan is on as I get hot flushes a lot and I need to make sure I have my special pillow to cuddle up to… pillow > husband
What time do you go to sleep?
It varies, some days it’s 6pm… others it’s 2am, the joys of living with anxiety and an overactive mind.
Do you share your bed?
I share my bed with my husband and my little Pomeranian. We sort of end up doing a three way spoon, you have not lived life until you have a dog put their arm around you… so cute I can’t even handle it
.
Which position do you tend to sleep in? e.g. foetus, starfish etc.
I sort of sleep in a sprawled-out foetus, like my arms all tucked up but my legs trying to reach opposite continents, not fun for my hubby!
Reflection
What was your favourite part of your day?
Feeling a lot of love for my husband, I know that he is my soul mate but sometimes my mental health tries to temp me into reckless behaviour and self-sabotaging, the side of me which things I don’t deserve anything. So holding my husband’s hand and giving him a kiss and feeling that flutter, it’s pretty damn great.
What was your least favourite?
Headaches. Can we cure them permanently yet?
Did anything happen today that you'd like to change or re-do?
I would have made sure to have some pain killers in the house, I am not a fan of headaches and migraines… really kills the writing vibe.
Did you 'learn' anything today? (use your own definition of this word to answer the question)
I learnt that there is still some confidence inside of me, that a part of me does like how I look and that, that really is a breakthrough for me – body dysmorphia is losing the battle.
Are you looking forward to tomorrow?
I really am! Which will likely mean that I won’t sleep well tonight due to excitement. I still don’t sleep on Christmas Eve. I am that kid… or rather adult-child.
What do you have planned?
Tomorrow I am going to book two new tattoos and I am buzzing! I swore I would only get the one tattoo but I’ll soon have five and it makes me so happy!
