Today’s post in the Blogmas Unboxed series is inspired by my trip to Edinburgh Christmas Market with my Mum via Gardiners NMC which – I’m sad to say – was a bit of a disappointment (the market; not the entire trip!). In the past, I would have coped with this disappointment in a really unsafe way and I very likely would have found myself searching for someone to blame. On this occasion though, I made the conscious decision to continue to appreciate the trip and the time with my Mum in the city that I actually really like because I’ve visited it a number of times. So, I searched for the good in the day and I focused on making the most of all the things we were able to do that we might not have if the Market had been better (there weren’t many stalls and a lot of them were selling the same items as each other and those items were things you could buy online; they weren’t handmade or really special and one-of-a-kind in anyway). Last year, I visited the Whitley Bay Christmas Market in their lovely building known as the Spanish City with a best-friend and we had such a good time that we decided to go back this year. Then, in hearing how amazing it was, my Mum wanted to go too so I ended up visiting it on the Saturday (25^thNovember) with Martin Baker of www.gumonmyshoe.com and then on the Sunday (26^th) I went with my Mum. Cleo (owner of Etsy store; Phoenix Cove) and I have actually been working on this year’s Blogmas series since the beginning of August! And being as open and honest as I am on my blog, it’s been incredibly difficult and challenging not to spill the beans about the entire series in our Halloween reveal (which you can read here) earlier in the year! So, this introductory post is a huge relief and it’s a real pleasure to finally be able to publish it and see the reactions, opinions, thoughts, and feelings of my readers and Cleo’s customers. We’ve both worked so incredibly hard on this series, so we truly hope you enjoy every moment as much as we have enjoyed putting it all together! So, we’re kicking things off with this post full of mental health advice for this festive period…
