CHRISTMAS Q&A WITH MY FIANCE RONNIE SKELTON, MECHANIC & PHOTOGRAPHER | 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS WITH I'M NOT DISORDERED

It’s a special time of year and so, to celebrate it, I wanted to do something special on I’m NOT Disordered for Christmas. I have decided to bring back the Christmassy Q&A I put together last year with the questions being from a YouTube video and have posed them to many different people from all of the country and doing all sorts of jobs, in all sorts of roles, living all kinds of lives!
So let’s kick off the last part of the series: Day Twelve of 12 Days of Christmas with I'm NOT Disordered with the answers of my fiancé Ronnie Skelton, qualified mechanic and photographer.

1.    When do you start getting excited for Christmas Day?

I’d say the second week in December when the decorations go up.

2.   Do you still have an advent calendar? If yes, which do you have and if no, when did you stop having them?

Yes, I still have an advent calendar, this year I have two. A Milky Bar one off Aimee and a Malteaser on off my sister

3.   What are favourite Christmas movies?

Home Alone 1,2,3, Elf, Santa Clause 1,2,3 and Jack Frost

4.   Do you have any funny Christmas stories/memories?

First Christmas at Aimee’s she had a blocked kitchen sink on Christmas Eve. We checked it on Christmas morning and it had unblocked itself. I said it was a Christmas miracle.

5.   What's your typical Christmas Day?

Up for about 7 or 8am. Open presents with family, have breakfast. Then patiently wait for one of my dad’s legendary Christmas dinners with all the trimmings. Have few drinks in the afternoon watching tv with family. In the evening mother makes a nice buffet with lots to choose from. Rest of the day is regretting all the junk you’ve ate and drank whilst lying down trying to recover from it. Hahaha!

6.   What do you eat for you Christmas dinner? And what is your favourite part of it?

Turkey with all the veg, roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings. All swimming in gravy.

7. Do you have any Christmas traditions?
When I was younger my mam would make me and siblings all get up together and have breakfast together before we were allowed into the sitting room and she used to guard the door like a bouncer.

8. What are your favourite Christmas songs?
Last Christmas- Wham! Fairy Tale of New York- The Pouges Let it snow let it snow let it snow – Frank Sinatra Merry Xmas Everyone – Slade Merry Christmas Everybody – Shakin Stevens

9. What has been your favourite Christmas present?
Haven’t really had a favourite Christmas present I’ve been grateful for everything I’ve received since my first Christmas.

10. Do you prefer a real or fake Christmas tree?
Never had a fake Christmas tree. I can imagine them being messy when it starts dying and all the needles start falling off it. Always had a fake tree so I prefer them’.

11. This year, do you think you'd be on the naughty or nice list?
I’d like to think I was on the nice list. Only time will tell.

12. Do you prefer giving or receiving presents?
Giving presents is always great. Nice to see people’s reactions from opening gifts. Seeing you’ve brought a smile to their faces

13. Where would be your dream place to spend Christmas?
Dream place would have to be New York. I’ve always wanted to go there, and it looks amazing in the winter. I’ve seen a lot of photos on social media of New York with the snow and Christmas lights.

14. Are you good at wrapping presents?
I’m not too bad at wrapping presents. Sometimes need a bit help with the awkward shaped ones.

15. What time do you usually get up on Christmas morning? Is this different from when you were little?
Around about 7 or 8am maybes a bit earlier. When I was younger it used to be 6am up and bouncing around hyper with excitement.

16. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn't real? And how did you find out?
Not too sure it just sort of phased out over time growing up.

17. What is your dream Christmas present?
An Aston Martin DB9 or DB11 in Black or Red

18. Have you asked for anything this year? If yes, what?

I’ve asked for a few things this year but the main one would be a new camera lens for my Canon digital camera.

19. If you could spend Christmas with anyone - living or dead, celebrity or someone you know - who would it be?

I would like to spend Christmas with my mams dad as I never met him as he passed away when she was young. Also, my dad’s parents who are sadly not here anymore. It’s all about family and loved ones at Christmas.
