“Don’t
let the sun go down without saying thank you to someone, and without admitting
to yourself that absolutely no one gets this far alone.”

Dear Alice,
Thank
you!
Thank
you for being one of the first, most Senior staff from Cats Protection to have
faith in my ability to create content, faith in I’m NOT Disordered’s potential,
and faith in the very real chance of success our collaborations could have.
One of my most favourite memories of our online relationship though, wasn’t about ‘work’ and collaborations… I remember contacting you in April 2021 after the loss of my first bunny; Pixie about the impact her death was having on my first rescue calico kitten; Emmy. There are not many people I would turn to in that situation – and especially not to ask for advice – but you were the one. I think this speaks volumes for our working relationship and for your passion and interest in the entirety of Cats Protection’s cause and the very reason you’re all here. Not a lot of charity staff have such a dedication and investment in both their career and responsibilities and the cause and work of the actual charity they’re working for too. It’s a rarity and something which really helps you to stand out as both incredibly special and incredibly important in Cats Protection and actually, in my blog’s entire journey too!
My blog
wouldn’t be as popular and successful as it had become without its many – I think
we’re onto 20! – collaborations with Cats Protection! Some of my favourite which
have been discussed and planned between us both have been:
And, my
absolute favourite – which was actually a Series of blog posts and social media
content – was begun in the Series Intro here: #HEREFORTHEKITTENS
| SERIES INTRO: MANAGING MY MENTAL HEALTH IN MAKING THE DECISION TO GET A
KITTEN & ALL THE PREPARATION FOR HER!!! | IN COLLABORATION WITH CATS
PROTECTION & FEATURING AN ETSY DISCOUNT CODE!!! | AD | I'm NOT Disordered.
I think this was my favourite because Ruby is still such a huge part of my world
and my heart. She’s incredibly attached to me, and I honestly believe this is
completely because of that Collaboration Series. People don’t often recognise
the power and influence that blogging can have on a person’s life – especially in
positive and productive ways – but I think that this is something you do massively
realise too. And this, is probably one of the most influential qualities for
your success and achievements in your role.
Working
together for the years that we have, has really helped me to see you as a
person in addition to being in a role. You’ve been a lovely, humorous, kind,
and courteous person all this time and I have thoroughly enjoyed and felt
incredibly privileged to have worked with you, Alice.
Thank
you for the opportunities, for the content ideas and inspiration, and for
helping me to gain new experiences and learn new skills that have honestly made
my mental health recovery feel truly worthwhile and fully enjoyable. Not many
people have that sort of ability to make a person who has struggled so much,
feel honestly grateful for the fight they’ve faced to get to the position they
have to be in to be able to connect with you. And you’ve been that person for
me.
Thank you,
and I wish you all the luck in the world with your future and where it takes
you! Keep in touch! I’ll think of you every single time I work with the
charity.
