RELATING TO: A LITTLE BOOK OF LEADERSHIP LESSONS BY STEPH EDUSEI

*This book and its PDF were gifted to me by the Author*

BUY THE BOOK ON AMAZON HERE!

“Not ‘little’ in that it was diminished or insignificant, but ‘little’ in that it is, I believe, short and snappy. I want it to be the type of book that people will pick up and think, ‘this doesn’t look too overwhelming to read.’ I want it to be the type of book you can dip in and out of and get something out of every chapter individually, without having to read the whole thing.”

‘Introduction’ of A Little of Leadership Lessons by Steph Edusei

Noticing this book on Steph’s Facebook page (which you can follow here), I was immediately taken by the title and the thought of learning something so profound and professional from someone who I have known for a number of years and have met (I used to volunteer for the Communications and Marketing department of the Hospice Steph is CEO of: St Oswald’s Hospice). I was pleasantly surprised to read in the Introduction of the book that there was going to be ‘key learning points’ and ‘suggestions for further learning’ at the end of every Chapter. As Steph writes though: ‘if you don’t feel it’s important to dig into theories and read around a subject right now then just ignore that bit, I completely understand…’I however, love elements like this! So, I seriously couldn’t wait to get started…

BUDGET BLOGMAS | DAY ONE: INTRODUCTION | IN COLLABORATION WITH PRETTY PERFECT PRODUCTS

Hello and welcome to I’m NOT Disordered’s Budget Blogmas!

Today, I thought I’d do a bit of an introduction to the series and explain the inspiration and thinking process behind it. Plus, I’ll tell you a little bit of what to expect from the series…

A huge contributor to the idea of this year’s Blogmas theme was actually my Mum – so a massive thank you to her! And as usual, I kind of snowballed from her idea and created an entire series of Blogmas content!

WHY I’M DOING THIS…

On thinking about the topic, the Social Media Manager had suggested, I decided to take on the theme for a number of reasons:

1.     So many Bloggers use this time of the year as an excuse to create elaborate gift guides full of items and products half of their readers may not be able to afford. This is one of the many reasons why I appreciate Victoria Magrath’s content on www.inthefrow.com because she tends to cater to her target audience and so the content and the price of the things she blogs about, are relevant and appropriate. Now, I’ve really enjoyed doing gift guides or picking out items and products which I would buy if I could afford it, but there’s a difference between letting your imagination run wild and giving your readers unrealistic goals and expectations.

BLOGMAS 2019 – POST FIFTEEN : COLOUR YOUR LIFE CLUB | ETSY COLLABORATION | AD

Thanks to a poll on my Twitter back in November, my wonderful followers decided that I should publish a blog post and film a vlog every day for the entirety of December!

So welcome to December 15th…

Today is all about my collaboration with one very special brand on Etsy, in this post I’ll be reviewing the products they sent to me and on December 23rd you can enter a competition to win these products and the remaining three that I’ll be reviewing every other day this month!

I thought for a while about what I’d write on this post and initially, I thought I’d talk about the stigma of mental health meaning that myself – and lots of others – keep it secret and try to hide things when we’re struggling. And then I realized I wrote about that like, seven posts ago and I groaned at the thought of having to create new content for a further ten days!

So, instead, I’ll be talking about each of the three slogans on the Colour Your Life Club badges you can win in the competition…

‘It’s ok not to be ok’

I think that especially at this time of year there’s a lot of pressure on people to be ok and to enjoy the most festive time of the year; but actually, it can be a particularly difficult time for a lot of people. The happiness and buzz of Christmas can sometimes be overwhelming and seeing everyone else have so much fun and be happy can seem to magnify just how much you’re struggling.

BLOGMAS 2019 – POST SEVEN : THE LITTLE PIN CO.| ETSY COLLABORATION | AD

Thanks to a poll on my Twitter back in November, my wonderful followers decided that I should publish a blog post and film a vlog every day for the entirety of December!

So welcome to December 7th…

Today is all about my collaboration with one very special brand on Etsy, in this post I’ll be reviewing the products they sent to me and on December 23rd you can enter a competition to win these products and the remaining seven that I’ll be reviewing every other day this month!

This third product is a lovely little pin badge which reads ‘Brave and Strong’ from the very aptly named The Little Pin Co. who are based in Porthcawl, Wales.

I think that a bit of a big worry in mental health at the moment is that it’s becoming ‘trendy’ to have an actual mental health illness; granted, it’s mainly about Anxiety - with so many well-known people speaking out publicly to say they have experienced panic attacks. To be honest, I think my train of thought is that at least mental health is being talked about!

BLOGMAS 2019 – POST FIVE : BEAR IN MIND PSYCHOLOGY | ETSY COLLABORATION | AD

Thanks to a poll on my Twitter back in November, my wonderful followers decided that I should publish a blog post and film a vlog every day for the entirety of December!

So welcome to December 5th…

Today is all about my collaboration with one very special brand on Etsy, in this post I’ll be reviewing the products they sent to me and on December 23rd you can enter a competition to win these products and the remaining eight that I’ll be reviewing every other day this month!

The second product are these very handy Schema Therapy Flashcards by the incredible Bear In Mind Psychology, who are based in Watford, England.

I first heard about Schema Therapy in 2011 when I began seeing a Psychologist through my Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and it ended up being my most well period in the three years before I was admitted to the long-term, specialist, psychiatric hospital.

For those who don’t know, to put it simply, Schema Therapy is all about identifying the different sides to you, understanding what they mean, realizing how they differ, and figuring out why they’re there. So, the Psychologist and I found that I have about three main Schemas; one that it angry, one that is sad, and one that is happy.
