With my Birthday in just a couple of weeks (February 1^st), I’ve been looking through my saved lists on my favourite websites for something to treat myself to and thanks to Wardow, I finally managed to purchase my favourite Valentino! It’s honestly been in my ‘love list’ for around six or seven months – though it feels like forever! – but full price, it was £130.50 and whilst I did feel that it was worth it because of its brand and it’s pretty huge(!), that is still a lot of money when you have bills to pay! Fortunately, however, Wardow helped me out and then they also had a discount code (WINTER – it should still be valid when this post is published) which gives you 10% off. Then, I also had over £10 in ‘points’ (you receive loyalty points per £1 you spend) on my account from previous purchases so I managed to get it for less than half price!! Inspired by this, I decided to create my Birthday wishlist where I’ve looked through my – probably – three favourite retail sites and my go-to’s for Birthday gifts: ASOS, Wardow, and Amazon UK for goodies of all different prices. Hopefully you’ll be inspired for any upcoming Birthdays for your friends or family or, as I have done, for yourself…

When I began considering themes and angles for content for Halloween this year, I decided to go back through previous Halloween content in my blog’s archives to find inspiration. And found that last October (2024), in collaboration with Pinterest, I published a blog post titled: HALLOWEEN MUST-HAVES | COSTUME ACCESSORIES, HOMEWARE, PARTY BITS, ITEMS FOR PETS, & PINTEREST HOME INSPO (which you can read here) and on looking at the statistics for it, I was extremely surprised to see it had actually been fairly popular. I say that this was surprising because I’m NOT Disordered is very obviously a mental health blog and so when I create and publish content that strays from this theme, I fully expect and prepare for it to not do very well in terms of views. So, why do I do that content regardless of this? Because I actually really enjoy putting together more light-hearted content like wishlists and gift guides and ultimately, this is my blog! So, as a piece of pre-Halloween content (there’ll be another post on the 31^st) I’ve partnered with Amazon UK to bring you this post which will include everything from homeware to costumes to party supplies…

I literally can’t believe we’re on Day Eighteen already! Sometimes it feels like this month is going really fast and sometimes I’m really happy that it’s going slowly because I’m enjoying every minute of it! Luna's Amazon Birthday Wishlist

It's Luna (my bunny)'s 1st Birthday next week, but I wanted to do something special now... So, I thought I’d turn over to you and asked you all to send in your bunny-related questions! I had vowed to answer all of them but having such a big audience now; I maybe shouldn’t have said that! So, I’ve had to pick my favourites – which was so difficult because I honestly loved them all…

Why a rabbit? And what made you pick Luna?

So, when I was little I had two rabbits – Happy and Thumper – and when they had babies myself and my family made the mistake of handling them so the Mum killed them (something which is quite well known in rabbits). This memory led professionals to believe that when I started to hallucinate rabbits years later, that was the influence.

After a lengthy (two and a half years) psychiatric hospital admission and medication, the hallucinations stopped for some time and when they came back in 2017, I was so terrified that if I told someone I’d be put back in hospital; but I knew that I needed to talk about it in order to get help. So, my Mum and I were in Pets At Home, and I had this unexpected and overwhelming idea to hold one of their rabbits. My thought behind it was that perhaps in feeling a very real bunny, in having their fur against my skin and feeling their heartbeat, maybe I’d feel some sort of courage and comfort that would leave me able to get help for the hallucinations return.

As some of you may already know, I recently (for a good few months now) have found a lot of enjoyment in creating Canva images and especially, I absolutely loved creating the wish lists for Blogmas! And initially, I felt the urge to explain my decision to continue to feature such content on a blog that is primarily about mental health, but then I remembered that it’s my blog! I can respect and appreciate the feedback readers give me, but I also have to balance that with creating content I actually really enjoy!

EMMY’S SECOND BIRTHDAY

Not going to lie, I’ve kind of gotten hooked on doing wishlists for my pets’ Birthdays! I realize it’s really not the content people come to I’m NOT Disordered for, but my blog is my own and I have to be happy with the content I produce. I think it’s also important that I take as many opportunities as possible to reiterate how important my pets are for my mental health!


After having to make the decision to put Dolly (my previous cat) to sleep in October 2018 (which you can read about here), myself and Pixie (my bunny) couldn’t live without a cat in our lives! Whilst I knew that no cat could ever replace Dolly, our home just wasn’t the same without that third presence.

Since Pixie has been so poorly recently (she had Gut Stasis and was admitted to the Vets for a few nights) I wanted to do a  bit of a light-hearted little post on her and the presents she’d like for her third Birthday which is coming up in July! 

She also has an Amazon Wishlist for any lovely readers who’d like to treat her to a little surprise (you can view it here).


If you aren’t sure who Pixie is and why she’s so special… I got Pixie in 2017 after my hallucinations of rabbits came back. I hadn’t told anyone that I was struggling with them again because I was so scared it’d mean that I was admitted to hospital again or that my medication would be increased, but when I was in Pets At Home with my Mum and saw their cute, fluffy bunnies… Well, I burst into tears(!), told my Mum, and asked the store staff if I could hold one of the rabbits. While I cuddled Pixie and my Mum took photos, I cried and agreed to ring my Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to tell her what was happening to get help and support for it.

This post is in collaboration with my ultimate favourite shop for goodies – Pets At Home!

My Mum did a Christmas Wishlist first (which you can read here) and then my bunny sister Pixie (who’s from Pets At Home) wrote her Wishlist (which you can read here); and now it’s my turn! And because this is a special post with Pets At Home, I’ve wrote down all of my reasons for wanting these special, Christmassy items in the hope that someone will buy them all for me!


Also, wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone at Willows Cat Adoption Centre; who are the reason I’m able to celebrate Christmas this year after saving my life from being found wandering the streets at only a few weeks old!

Mum says this present is too big for Santa’s sleigh and that I don’t need it because I have a scratch post that isn’t very old but I told her that this is a WISHlist and that means I can put all of the items I could only wish for! The gifts I dream about finding under our 6ft Christmas tree that I constantly attempt to dismantle!
